Green Tara is a Tibetan Buddhist Goddess. The word Tara means “she who saves us” and her name is associated with the word star of planet - signifying that which can guide us in out journey though life. So Green Tara is a Goddess said to help us to overcome our fears, and other emotions that might cause us pain and suffering, bringing compassion, tranquility and peace, and a stronger alignment with our path and purpose.
There are different forms in which Tara appears. Green in Buddhism symbolises vitality, and so Green Tara helps us to connect with motivation and moving forward. She is often depicted her right leg outstretched and down, and those she is ready to get up and go from the lotus flower she has been sitting in.
